2022 Keystone Chapter Truck, Tractor, and Machinery Show
July 22-23, 2022 Location - Through Inc. grounds; 2879 Everett Road; East Freedom, PA 16637 (across from Freedom Twp. Fire Hall; 139 Municipal St.) 39 registrations (53 vehicles) A successful show although the temperatures were on the warm (er hot) side. Thanks to all who showed vehicles and helped with the show. The weather was sunny and hot with a nice southerly breeze both days. The shade tree on the grounds was a life saver from the hot sun and a meeting place for the exhibitors to talk "shop". The warm temperatures may have deterred some from attending but those who attended were treated to lots of trucks, tractors, and good conversations. Thanks to Mike Koontz Concessions (New Enterprise, PA) for selling food and drinks (and sno-cones) to the hungry and thirsty group. This year approximately 20 "craft" vendors setup and sold their items. Thanks to WTAJ Channel 6 Johnstown for mentioning our show on the Friday evening news. Chapter Field Trip - Brydonson Farm/PA Lumber Museum/Drexel Penz
March 19, 2022 A "pancake run" to Brydonson Farm Potter County was held on Saturday. The excursion was attended by eight (8) Keystone Chapter members, three (3) guests, and four (4) members of the Shortway Chapter. The breakfast was all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage including a beverage served with maple syrup from Brydonson Farm. The pancakes were "as big as hubcaps". After a visit to the gift house the group drove to and toured the Pennsylvania Lumberman's Museum. Inside was an amazing display of the history of the lumber industry in PA. After the museum visit, each vehicle headed home on different routes. Several members drove to Grampian and viewed the remains of Drexel Penz's Automobilia and Pretroliana Collection. Drexel's lifetime collection was destroyed in a fire on Friday March 18th. See details and pictures in the May 2022 Keystone Trucker Newsletter. Newsletters
